A snippet from one of our posts – ‘Adoption, though it is a wonderful opportunity for all concerned, is rooted in loss. Every one involved in the adoption triad has faced a loss. The birth parents – their loss is obvious. They will never get to parent the child that they birthed, the child that was born out of their love, but whom they were unable to parent, for various reasons. The innocent baby – she will never get to live with her birth family, and will be constantly plagued with questions about why she was abandoned, and other questions of her identity. And the adoptive parents – they have lost a dream, a dream of creating a baby together with the one they love, a dream about going through pregnancy perhaps, a dream of bringing life into the world.’

I was looking at your baby pictures, Ava is such a darling.
Hopefully I can convince the wife with the help of your blog that we too could be open to kids of other nationalities.
Having kids is such a blessing. I hope Ava lives a long healthy life, grows up to be grandmother with a huge family.

I could not help but think about Avas biological parents. I attend grief counselling for parents who have lost kids and there is a mom who gave up her child 20 years back. 20 years later and she is still devastated by her actions and then a few sessions back she mentioned that she got a call from a girl. Her daugher had tracked her down. They were taking it slow, both of them had so many questions. The mom keeps talking about how things seem to have worked out, she took the toughest decision of her life keeping her kids best interests at heart.
